The beginnings of a herd...
5 new Boer goats (4 does and 1 buck) arrived on 11/11/08. Their names are KupKake, Lily, Kridder, Snowball and Joe Buck.
What pretty goats! I started w/ 6 Boers a few years ago! Well... I did get my Irish Dexter cattle before them, but I got the Boers before I got my Boers before my other breeds of goats or any sheep. If you want lamb... get meat sheep. They have hair & not wool! No shearing & they were bred for the taste of meat and not wool! My favorite breed is St. Croix. I have Katahdin & Blackbelly. Your fence doesn't have to be water tight to hold sheep!!! They are homebodies, but no where near as fun as goats.
